I had some late-game experience in NW playing a good-aligned character who joined the Divine Slayers. Levelling by reading in the nearby Vaults I found myself subject to repeated attacks from other angels with Hand of Zealotry. On a few occasions the non-angels in the Slayers went after those who thought it fun to have their level 30 Divine Champion pick off a level 5 mortal. And this did result in damage to their MO.
I see Holier Than Thou as the sort of skill that would allow an Archon to punish angels who get out of line without having to worry about Sin Eater or equivalents. It's a policing skill. Whether it will be used for 'good' or for 'angel fascism' is another matter.
90 CP is expensive but I can see why it is placed where it is on the tree. Would I buy it for an Archon? Maybe. You'll get dicks playing as angels just as often as demons so there might be a place for this skill. It certainly makes the Archon look like something to be taken seriously. _________________ Cheers,
One idea I just had to stop this being a very greify skill is letting angels regulate them themselves, by allowing good aligned characters to attack HTT owning angels as if they have HTT themselves. So if an angel starts killing goods the good characters have the ability to fight back, whilst the skill still retains its ability against other rouge goods.
First, going on the record to say that I love this skill. Looking forward to seeing how it plays on the field, especially in light of the broadened MO min/max ranges.
Second, if folks want to tweak it to offset the potential for the griefy, then I offer the following suggestion:
1) Increase the Archon's morality hit to -5 upon killing blow. With a +50 morality max, the -2 penalty really isn't all that punishing.
2) Add +5 morality to the victim upon death from killing blow. While the Advocate "eats the sins" of the transgressor, the Archon uses brute force to "sanctify" the victim.
Advocate : Archon = John Coffey : Ministry of Truth(or Spanish Inquisition)
Oh, that is awesome. Forced sanctification is very flavorful, and you can't just kill people randomly! It works, but it still needs a benefit to compensate for the cost. (Or it could just be 60 cp)
