I am not sure how doable this is, but I had the idea recently that it would be cool if transmuting gave you XP in this way:
1) Transmuted components have a 'transmuted' flag set. This flag remains operational until the component is directly interacted with (including giving, crafting into other items, or alchemized).
2) When brewing a potion, all components used that have a 'Transmuted' flag award you a bonus 2-4 XP depending on the rarity of the transmuted component.
That prevents the old potential 'abuse' of transmuting back and forth and still makes alchemists feel less 'cheated'. _________________ For the Kin!
But what about crafters? Like conduits who transmute components to craft armor or weapons? I think if they did apply the bonus experience to potions, the item crafters would just lose out on that. If they did apply that, I would think they could add like 1 xp per transmuted item component when crafting as well. The main problem I see with all of that, though, is combat focused characters might level even slower than they had before, in comparison.
I'd just like potions to count as items crafted as well as other items.
.... and items drank. _________________ “I'm a man of simple tastes. I'm always satisfied with the best.” ~Oscar Wilde
