Nexus Clash :: View topic - Past Life Memory for Spells

Now, I don't know if this is already the case or not, but after learning that renamed items turn into a "Memory of a Past Life" when a breath ends to allow you to reapply the name to an item, I think it would only make sense to expand this mechanic to named spells.
Spells cost twice as much to rename as an item, and unlike custom clothing items are still removed when a new breath happens. For any serious mage wanting to make their own spells, this adds up.
There is a slight issue in that people can use pattern weaver to overwrite spellgems with their special renamed spell, allowing other people to learn them, but I believe I have a solution for this: When you spend the credits to rename a spell, you receive an "ancient rune" or something of the sort with your spell's name, original spell and custom attack messages stored on it. This rune is not destroyed when a breath ends, and could be used on any tile containing a leyline to apply the name to that spell without being consumed, provided you actually know the spell. This way the original spell's designer doesn't lose the name when a breath ends, but anyone they shared the spell with doesn't get to keep the name.
