Arise, ye ancient thread!
With necromantic power swell-
my urging moves the dead;
lifelike movement, I compel!

Stirring now from slumber long-
I awake, and waking do prepare
to cater to the wond'ring throng;
whose questions are my favorite fare;

Ask them, then, for me to savor;
and with answers, I'll return your favor.

What happened, oh wise one, to cause you to leave us for so long? We've missed you, this much is true. Razz

Has there ever been a question that you could not answer?

What do you know of my purpose here in this Breath, Esteemed Prophet?

Oh Estimated Prophet, why does the bright light in the ceiling keep going out and soaking me in alcohol?

Estimated Prophet,

Why are you only estimated and not esteemed?

Quote:
What happened, oh wise one, to cause you to leave us for so long?

As it passed, I left perchance.
But this, at first, was brief:
By some awful happenstance,
as I was gone, Time came- the Thief!
-he stole away with weeks unearned,
days were forfeit, months forgot.
All were gone when I'd returned,
but that is all the livings' lot:
Their years will go, and ages fly
And all things that live shall die.

Quote:
Has there ever been a question that you could not answer?

Neither has there been a one,
nor shall there ever be.
To answer is quite simply done-
at least, in some degree.

I'll answer all as birds take flight-
Borne aloft on Cunning's wing!
Now, of course, to answer right-
Well, there's another thing!

Quote:
What do you know of my purpose here in this Breath, Esteemed Prophet?

Your purpose is with purpose made:
that purpose is to be your own;
With Adamance, the path is laid-
to rule Thy Self, from selfhood's throne.

But Woe to those, who destiny revoke!
The powers will not let you free:
They pluck the strings of fate at play-
your love's a toy, your pain's a joke!
Oh no, The Nine shall never see
the coming of your freedom's day.

Quote:
Oh Estimated Prophet, why does the bright light in the ceiling keep going out and soaking me in alcohol?

Now this, indeed, is quite a puzzle!
Well, it's either that or bunk-
With liquor, one might always guzzle;
and forget, for being drunk.

But I'm sure that's no explanation
You had just a nip, at most.
No: by my prophetic estimation,
I have deduced- it was a ghost!

Quote:
Why are you only estimated and not esteemed?

A most deserved interrogation;
I'll lay aside my art-
My forked tongue will not answer you
with false words or with derogation
but speaking from my heart;
thus guaranteed, 'tis true!

It is all jealousy, you see;
the motley mob is hopping mad
that each of them cannot be me!
So, to them, I say- "Too bad!"

So I am to be forever enslaved... or I will see the end of The Nine. Interesting. I will ponder this further. Thank you.

Oh dusty thread,
So long neglected--
Be not thou dead,
but resurrected!

Come Undina, come Sylvestris,
Come Gnomus and Vulcanus,
Come thou round, thou spirits!
Bring this thread from dull senescence,
Bring weal and woe; bring pain and bliss--
Resurrect with sweet quintessence!

Mortals and immortals, answers seek;
Let them hear their Prophet speak!

O Prophet,

Why DO birds suddenly appear, when you are near?

O Esteemed Prophet:

When the deed is done,
but the work has just begun -
The Gift draws the last breath,
and stands on the steps of Death -
What should be chanted,
if powers are to be granted?

There are spirits, grim and cold,
clawing at the gates of death;
forgotten things from times untold--
phantasmal hunters, seeking breath;

Ephem'ral things with shifting forms;
Now rats, now snakes, now locust swarms--
And now--birds! Why do birds suddenly appear
When I am near?

Just like me
They long to be
Close to you.

Hobbitses-cheaty little foolses!
That question is against the ruleses!

Quote:
When the deed is done,

What should be chanted,
if powers are to be granted?

If you only speak the truth,
then speak as you please;
Such powers as seek sooth
Will thereby be appeased.
all things that live shall die.

If your tongue is forked,
then lavish praise upon thy master
But be not direct--for as a bottle, once uncorked,
if held aslant, praise pours forth faster.
all things that live shall die.

But as you grovel on your knees,
and seek the fleeting gift of power
through a chant contrived to appease--
reflect upon the with'ring flower
whose petals fall
whose perfume fades
whose striving towards the sky is lost
whose beauty falls at last to dust;
Such is thy fate, by age or violence--
to chant the flower's chant--
in deaf'ning silence.
all things that live shall die.

A haggard woman trudges up to hear the prophets words.
Her visage is of an awful fright, enough to scare those birds.
Her dulcet tones belie the truth, the haggard crone is weary,
She has trudged a long long way to ask the prophet a query.

"Dear Prophet" says she, with musical whim and something new to you.
"I have myself two humble tasks of which answers must be true"
"The first of which is a title given, not one that I can choose."
"I want it still and this is first, for this I'll share my booze."

A draught she pours and across the the bar she slides the golden drink
"Now dear prophet" she says "It's Explodinator of which I want you to think."
"My second task is not so small, while the first seemingly can't be done."
"I have tasked myself the impossible, and with determination, I shall overcome."

"But first that drink, you have not touched you'll need it for this thought."
"Of twelve there's 9 but not exact and for this you'll need that shot."
"One absorbed, and one forgot and another is in hiding."
"The powers spit, the cores are lost yet somewhere in this riding."

"I speak of one who's name was lost, cast from heaven into hell."
"The one I want to find is he who was a power named Azazel."
"He is not dead. I refuse to believe, I feel him calling me."
"So dear prophet, another drink? For he needs to be set free."

"The drinks are good, and flowing free but will they be enough?"
"To learn the truth and find the clues and rebuild my power up."
"Tell me prophet, of this I beg which is something I disdain."
"Answer me true and tell me how, I can release Azazel into this game."
