It strikes me that this is a necessary entry for those who are not NexusWar veterans, so you can understand a bit of what is expected here.
As you have probably noticed, it is possible to have multiple characters. In order to prevent any one PLAYER from exerting undue influence upon the game, the following are the "laws" of how you may - and may not - use those characters. These are presented in a style similar to Isaac Aasimov's "Three Laws of Robotics."
RULE ONE:
A player shall not attempt to use multiple characters that he controls to gain an advantage in a particular area or against a particular character or faction. (This is often shortened to "keep your dudes away from each other").
RULE TWO:
A player shall not use knowledge gained by one character he controls to affect the actions another character he controls EXCEPT as is necessary to comply with Rule One.
RULE THREE:
It is your OWN actions that determine whether or not you are keeping your dudes away from each other, not someone else's.
If, for example, someone kills (let's say in live combat) your Dude A with Character C, then moves to another location and attacks your Dude B with that same Character C, you are permitted to defend yourself against *both* sets of attacks. You as the player are not attempting to gain an advantage by using both characters against him as *HE* chose the battleground and targets.
To borrow from hungerer, "Breaking character to move away from a raid when you are in the attacking party is not alt abuse. Alt abuse or Multi abuse occur when you allow (2) to supercede (1) every time."
EDIT 5/1/12: Added phrase: or faction to Rule One.

In the interest of adding some clarity to these guidelines, here is the first hard and fast restriction.
RESTRICTION ONE: Once one of your characters has participated in a raid against a faction, no other character should participate in a raid against that faction's location for a period of 24 hours.
COROLLARY: If you have a character in the raided faction that you had to move out of the stronghold in order to allow you to participate in the raid, you may move the character in the raided faction back into the stronghold location before 24 hours expire once all members of the raiding party are no longer in the stronghold location.
