Greetings!
New player, came over from Urban Dead.
Looking for a Group to repair stuff for, preferably Neutral (or tolerant of Neutrals).
Also got some questions about the economy: Is there any trading? How easy is it to self-supply? Also: What is considered more valuable, damaged stuff for the XP or pristine/enchanted things for utility value?
Repairing equipment is a steady source of XP as long as you have the materials to create it, since most factions have a mechanic or three to repair things in the safe. Though we at the SMC would love to have a mechanic working for us, we are evil, and located in Stygia, so probably not the faction for you. We are tolerate of Neutrals though, as long as you don't get in the way of our bikes.
You would want Search as one of your skills, and look in factories for chunks of steel. Use those to make carving knifes at destroyed quality, then fix them up for the XP.
If you want to continue as the fixer/enchanter route, you would want to go sorcerer and then conduit.

Forgot to mention, you can enchant things when you reach tier three, which does offer some good XP.
The RRF* would welcome you. We are a neutral faction in the heart of Sunset. 2 blocks from a factory, and right next to a gunshop and sports store. So you are pretty much set for components, or items to fix up, whichever advanced crafting path you take
You have to have an appreciation for the undead though
