The clapped out degenerate old mummy is going to be a lich with Hand of the Necromancer, so he's not getting the spell combat tree. And he hasn't found Death Dart yet. He hasn't really bothered learning any spells at all except Seeking Hand.
So he's basically shambling through tier 2 the same way he got through tier 1: kicking people for 3 impact damage. Anyone with over sixty hit points and some mundane armor will most likely survive an encounter with him.
So anyway, he ran into a maxxed out revenant yesterday.

Damn. 0 AP left, and seventeen minutes to sunset. Domagoj still has 6 HP. Even if I landed every hit, I wasn't going to do 12 HP of damage with 5 attacks. Why on earth did I emote that I nodded? How embarrassing. I should have done the math first.
Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for the tick and then kick him one more time and then emote something about my leg falling off.
Wait a minute. Whenever I have a character with the Spellcasting ability but without Spell Combat, I usually have a random spell gem or two that I found in a library. I never bother using them for a lousy 35% to-hit, but I generally don't drop them unitl I need the space.
Let's see what we've got... Battering Ram. 10 impact damage. Looks like Shadow of the Dust gives Domagoj 25% impact soak. 25%? Is that rounded up or down? Let's assume the worst and say it's rounded up. Okay. I've got a 35% chance of doing 7 damage.
I'm obviously going to miss, but at least I can go out like a four thousand year old Egyptian sorcerer and instead of kicking him in the shins like a child throwing a tantrum.

Also, you left out the part where your lich was useless until said leader killed your alt...
