So about the headline;

I'm looking at making a character who spends 99% of their T3 life in lava (T2 if possible even). What classes or builds should I be looking at? Is there more than one way to skin this cat?

Well, Infernal Behemoths have built-in fire immunity, so that may be appropriate - they're pretty bad at hiding for the whole 'lurking beneath the surface thing'.

Not sure if NC's tattoo of adaptation would trigger?

If you want a Bite attack you'd have to go Wolf Revenant but... meh.

What you really want to do (assuming lava counts as "water") is go Holy Champion, taking the full Cloak of Flame tree for permanent Fire Immunity, and the full Cloak of Water tree for 0AP lava movement. The rest of this build would be fairly free for you to pick and choose whatever you wanted.

I would DEFINITELY check with somebody who knows better about how lava interacts with the above skills first though.

You may want to reconsider. My understanding of Lava is that it is a 'type' of water. One cannot regenerate AP on water.

Lava is not water (and never was). Lava is the demonic counterpart to Hallowed Ground, and will not damage demons. It cannot be Hidden inside.

Searing River is considered water (because it is) and will not damage demons.

Alrighty, so far there's some great ideas.

So being hidden isn't a big deal, lots of folks do fairly well without hiding.

I guess now that some ideas have been brought up, I'll try to narrow my build down.

Does anything give 0AP lava movement or fire river movement?

Does an() HC with Fire and Waiter cloak actually fit what's been mentioned?

'bite' not withstanding, can a(n) HC do massive amounts of damage per AP if the two elemental cloak trees are taken?

Would an IB be better suited if hiding isn't an issue?

Can an IB regen AP standing lava or the searing river? Can a HC?

Well if you want to go with my build (and stick to the Searing River, which is basically Lava anyway).

Here's a build. It doesn't really gain any attacks until maxxed because I figured Magma Slam was too good a move to pass on (thematically at least) and also you'd need to get most of the exploration badges AND several breath badges (Books is easy to pick up simply levelling, another couple shouldn't be too difficult). If Magma Slam isn't worth it you can simply not take the skills listed after the badge grind on the sheet and replace the mortal skills with archery and use the psuedo-innates from your Cloaks.
