A new update has been released to the Nexus:

Quality of Life and Interface
● The AP tick has been optimised and should have much less of an impact on game performance
● Improved game performance for characters with large numbers of inventory items
● There is now a new site theme. It is still in testing and has some minor layout issues on certain pages, so its currently not enabled by default. You can try it out by going to the theme selection in your account and choosing "NewClash" instead of "NexusNuke".
● Enchant viewing on items now shows a number of how many enchants of a type exist instead of repeating the same type name multiple times.
● If consumed outside, Flying Potions now automatically make you take flight.

Game Mechanics and Balance
● Sorcerers Might, Prayer, Dark Heart, Soul Ice and Potions of Magic Recovery may now raise characters above maximum MP. MP above maximum will still decay rapidly to maximum if not used.
● Enabled a mechanics function for Pinches of Dweomerdust and a few other quirky components we thought we might need down the line. These items can now be transmuted into rare alchemy components.
● Arcane Sinks, like Arcane Wells, now have their duration extended by both Arcane Recycling and Baraas guilds (Blue Rose and Monks of the Unbound Mind). Arcane Recycling cost reductions also apply to Arcane Sinks.
● Kills on factionmates still grant no XP, but they do grant kill stats.
● Because they cost more and cost Tier 3 CP, the accuracy bonuses of Nexus Champion, Holy Champion and Doom Howler spellcaster skills have been increased. Tattoo of Sorcery and Aether Manipulation now grant +30% spell accuracy instead of +20%.
● In addition to throwing and bows, the Nexus Champion's Tattoo of Eagle Sight now grants its accuracy bonus to firearms and spells.
● Mortal combat skills have been broadly reformed to frontload accuracy bonuses into earlier skills:
- The base accuracy without skills for all attacks (including spells) has been boosted to 25% (was 10%).
- Hand-to-Hand Combat grants +20% (was 25%)
- Martial Arts grants +10% (was 15%)
- Advanced Martial Arts grants +10% (was 15%)
- Advanced Melee Combat grants +10% (was 15%)
- Firearms grants +10% (was 20%)
- Archery grants +10% (was 20%)
- Thrown Weapons grants +10% (was 20%)
- Spellcraft grants +20% (was 25%)
- Spell Combat grants +15% (was 20%)
- Arcane Warrior grants +20% (was 25%).
● Using enchanted grenades is now a notably worse idea than before (for most of us)

Major Bugs
● Blood Curse now correctly prevents Aethersprite healing.

Minor Bugs
● Death by overusing Crossbow of Cold Resolve now correctly generates a corpse and runs death decay.
● Corrected a bug that caused death by misusing one's own grenades to not increment Deaths stats.

The 1pm AP tick took 1.2 seconds and the 1:15pm AP tick took 1 second, which is a substantial speed up compared to previous ticks.

I don't have the overall number before the patch, but I know that the average tick spent several seconds updating factions and at least one second managing items and portals.

Quick extra bonus patch fixing the following:

  • Doubled the speed of the AP tick provided nobody is in Kaleidescopia
  • You can no longer alchemically transmute some ancient useless items
  • Resolved issue with default pane resetting to map every AP tick
  • Pets now reset their preferred attack type on AP tick

New theme looks good, but the upper left background elements are layering on top when viewing Faction pages. I'm using Firefox, FWIW

Thanks for the report!
We're aware there are some issues with it, which is why it isn't enabled as the default theme. You can expect further refinement on it in later patches Smile

The game has been updated with a small hotfix:
* Fixed issue with Regeneration not working if nobody in the game suffered from Blood Curse or Sorcerer's Might
