Suggestion: applying a Swathe of Bandages while injured heals 5 HP and converts the item to a Bloody Swathe of Bandages (which doesn't heal HP when worn). A tiny bit of flavor with a touch of situational usefulness.

On second thought, applying all the checks and conditions of healing to something like this is more trouble than it's worth.
